Please find our adoption process with fees below for your consideration.
A home check is always carried out for any of our precious strays in foster care, usually independently by someone who lives close by and involved in animal rescue. This ensures the right animal is matched to the right family. A puppy has to be 12 weeks before they can have rabies and can travel 21 days later or when the next available transport leaves.
After a successful home check, if you confirm you’d like to adopt a dog or cat, we are ready to reserve that family member for you. A £100 non refundable fee for preparation is due to reserve your chosen stray. This includes all injections need plus the rabies, passport, microchip, flea and worm treatment which are all legal requirements to enter the UK. Transport overland is £265 (which we give directly to the driver) payable into our Lloyds bank account 21 days before travel. NB- To evidence that the dog or cat your driver will be bringing for you is going to a genuine home, we need a scan or photograph of your signed utility bill on completion of a successful home check.
We regret that if your travel fee is not paid by 14 days before travel then your animal companion will not travel, due to the timescale of the necessary arrangements for travel.
In short, the total adoption fees per dog or cat is £365.00.
New owners need to be prepared to travel to pick their new family member up. This is from the South (Usually Services on M25), a drop for the Midlands (these vary depending on people’s locations) with a Manchester drop for the North on alternate trips. We ask owners to be very flexible on the day of arrival. The transporter would keep in contact with you and give an estimated time of arrival. Obviously, as you appreciate, there will potentially be dogs and cats still on the van, waiting to be dropped with their owners. It is for the wellbeing of these animals that we ask you to be flexible with times, to prevent the transporter waiting for you with the strays waiting on the van any longer than necessary.
Summary: Preparation of the £100 is due to our UK bank account on completion of a successful home check, to reserve your pet, along with a scan or emailed photograph of a signed utility bill at your address. The travel due to be paid 21 days before departure into our UK bank account (for future reference this is Lloyds 30-15-97 acc 30757968).
If you would like to proceed, we just need your full name, address with postcode, email address and contact numbers to arrange a home check by a volunteer in your area.
